Desmond House is a lovely holiday cottage in the beautiful Durham Dales. They wanted more control over their bookings and needed a website to enable them to advertise and manage their property online. The website showcases their property and provides information on activities in the surrounding area.
With no existing branding, Lamcat developed a simple logo consistent with the sign on the property. The colour palette takes inspiration from the blue of the front door, sandy browns from local stone. This is all tied together with a grey reminiscent of the colour of lead, for which the Teesdale area is renowned. The typeface for the logo and headings is from the sign at the front of Desmond House, paired with a complementary and contemporary font.
The website uses the excellent MotoPress Hotel Booking plugin for the heavy lifting, integrated with a custom WordPress theme we developed. PayPal and Stripe payment gateways allow customers to securely pay for their accommodation booking. The booking calendar automatically synchronises with TripAdvisor, Airbnb and other online travel agent (OTA) portals. The site was designed to be fully responsive and displays fluidly on all device sizes from desktop to mobile.
Desmond House
